We are very excited to get back to a regular season of rugby for Senior Women in the spring and summer of 2021.

Training sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Rockers clubhouse (6840 88 Street Edmonton, AB).

Games during the summer of 2021 will be held Saturday afternoons starting July 10 and running until September 11 and will be a slow re-introduction to contact and tackling. There is also a NEW category of NON-CONTACT rugby starting this season that will be played on Friday evenings. This RUSH RUGBY LEAGUE is a great way to learn how to play rugby in a non competitive, fun and safe manner. Games are played with on a touch basis and on a modified field size to allow players of all ages and abilities a chance to participate and thrive!

Rugby is one of the most affordable sports you can play in a supportive, family based environment All are welcome – NO experience is necessary – just a willingness to learn! We are an LGTBQ+ friendly club and encourage everyone to come out and try a session with our team! We hold several fun, inclusive social events through out the year including games nights, karaoke, Club Nights with themed food and drinks, ski/board trips, and much more!

The Senior Women have previously been coached by two internationally known rugby players: Forrest Gainer and Jen Kish.

Forrest Gainer played for Rugby Canada and was scouted to play professionally in Europe for more than a few years. Forrest’s rugby career has taken him to many countries including Ireland, France, Germany & Chile. Since retiring from playing rugby professionally, Forrest has been coaching in the Edmonton Rugby community. His expertise and intensity has led the Rockers to Edmonton city semi-finals in 2018 and 2019.

Jen Kish is most recently known for her Olympic efforts at the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro and her representation at the Canada level for over 10 years.
